दक्षिण भारत के जंगलों में पाया जाने वाला एक पेड़ है जिसकी लकड़ी हिन्दुओं के द्वारा पवित्र मानी जाती है। सफ़ेद चन्दन के विपरीत इसमें कोई सुगन्ध नहीं होती लेकिन शैव तथा शाक्त परम्पराओं को मानने वाले लोग इसका उपयोग पूजा में करते हैं।
