Bull of Shiva (Nandi)

जिसे बैल के रूप में शिव मंदिर में प्रतिष्ठित किया जाता है। नंदी को शक्ति कर्मठ एवं संपन्नता का प्रतीक माना गया है। यही कारण है कि नंदी का मुख शिव की तरफ होता है और वह एकाग्रचित्त मन से भगवान भोलेनाथ का आराध्य करते रहता है। आचार्य कुंदन पाठक ने शिवभक्तों को बताया कि शिव पुराण के अनुसार नंदी सिलाद मुनि का पुत्र है।

When the world becomes evil, Shiva destroys it to make way for beneficial change. Nandi is Shiva's animal form, his means of transportation, and his most ardent worshiper.
