भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की ब्रज भूमि में उनका एक भक्त रहता था, जिसका नाम कुंभनदास जी था. कुंभनदास का एक पुत्र था, जिसका नाम था रघुनंदन. कुंभनदास भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की मुरलीधर के रूप की नित दिन पूजा किया करते थे. वह हर वक्त उनकी भक्ती में लीन रहते.
